Stealth Tip: change the date of installed software

Usually scammers look in the Control Panel to see which software is installed. It is very suspicious if all the software has the same installation date or has a very fresh date. Your own fake PopUp

There are a lot of  ‘fake popup’ phone numbers in circulation but not many with working URLs. So why not use your own popup? All you have to do is changing the phone number to the one you want to call. To change the phonenumber in the popup: Extract the fakepopup.zip to a place you will remember. How to remove programs from the Add/Remove list shown in the Control Panel

Some technical support scammers are looking for particular installed programs. For example they look for ‘Oracle VM VirtualBox Guest Additions´. In this way they can determine if they are connected to a VM. So removing that from the uninstall list showed by Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs is not a bad idea.
